If you are planning to get rid of your old items by selling them in your frontyard, nobody is actually going to buy them. I am going to break down some of the reasons why a garage sell is a waste of time in this post. People walking by may not like the stuff because its useless or old. Someone can steal something without buying it if you turn around, people are walking by of course. You may end up having your garage sale on a day that is too hot/cold, raining, or snowing. If you are trying to sell the items for a higher price, you may have a disagreement with the person that is going to buy something.
Garage sales are old school, you should be using today's way of selling your items. The better solution to getting rid of your items is listing them on a local advertising website like Kijiji. You don't need to have everything sold in one day. Like I said in another post, if an item is stubborn to be sold, just throw it away.
